Kaoru Hayashi, 45 years old, is a owner of a nursery with her husband.

Her favorite fashion icon is Halle Berry, favorite shops are Estnation and Ron Herman, and her personal hairstylist is Mr. Shigemori from Rougy hair salon, who has been taking care of Kaoru’s hair for the past 6 years.

“The great thing about Mr. Shigemori is that he can really create the image that I have in mind. Every time he changes the style slightly so that I never get bored with my hairstyle.” Kaoru said.

This time, Mr. Shigemori proposed a style, “arranging 60s style geometric mushroom haircut to modern style.”

“Depending on cutting technique to make a good balance and shape, mushroom hairstyle can be even more sophisticated. By cutting hair along ears and bottom to be tight and give less volume, applying layers on the top surface which gives natural movement.

Mr. Shigemori explained.

Lesser hair volume, which is a common trouble for women of UNIQUE PIECE generation, can be solved with cutting technique offered by Mr. Shigemori.

“Styling is also very important. First of all, please apply light, non-wash type treatment all over hair while hair is wet, then use a hair dryer from the root of hair to dry roughly. Try to make the hair stand out especially on the top.”  Mr. Shigemori explained.

For color, Mr. Shigemori applied orange beige, ash color, and 7 tones natural brown with equal amount. This ash orange brown color fits the character of Kaoru and casual fashion such as beige jersey top and white shirt.

“My child is now a junior high school student and has grown up, so I have more time for myself. I would like to be more concerned about myself, having precious and relaxing time. For fashion, my theme is natural and relax style. I would like to take some part from popular fashion, but not just be influenced by them.”
