Michiko Ohmori, 67 years old, is a stylish lady. She loves fashion; her favorite designer is ISSEI MIYAKE, her clothes for 30 years, and has several pairs of glasses to match her style.

 

“I got married when I was 22 years old, and raised 3 boys, the oldest one is already 44 years old. While I was raising children, I really enjoyed making them look fashionable, with cool clothes and sneakers… After they grown up, I studied kimono dressing, then I became a professional in wedding kimono. I love fashion and fashion is my life.” Michiko said.

 

 

For my hairstyle, I have had a hairstylist, Miwa, for the past 10 years. I was introduced by my friend at first, since then I only go to the hair salon, VeLO.”

 

For her new hairstyle, Michiko requested one which she had found in a fashion magazine, SPUR.

 

“The photo of the western model in the magazine was “avant-garde” with an extremely short bang. Since Michiko is positive and adventurous for fashion, I proposed an asymmetric hairstyle which she can arrange to have different styles depending on her fashion and her mood.” Miwa explained.

 

 

Miwa used layered cut for the backside of her hair to have a nice shape, then cut right hand side very short. For the left hand side, she kept hair longer to have different lines. For the top, she cut concave, curving in or hollowed inward, and left bang slightly longer.

 

“My hair gets thinner as I get older. To make myself look young is challenging. Because of Miwa, I can have a nice hairstyle without wearing hair wig.” Michiko smiled.

 

“Michiko goes to swimming pool every day, so she needs a hairstyle which looks cool without hair styling.” Since Miwa knows well about Michiko’s lifestyle, she could create a style that Michiko needs.

 

 

For hair color, Yuko Saito from VeLO is in charge. For the base color, Yuko applied 9 level color, cover brown. For low-light she mixed 4 level and 6 level colors to be 5 level color.  For high-light, she applied 12 color level light beige.

 

“I used fashion color products rather than gray cover products to make it lighter. By mixing dark and light colors, we can cover her gray hair and make it look shinny.” Yuko explained.

 

Two hairstylists teamed up and created unique and efficient hairstyle for Michiko.

 

“Hairstyle is very important, like a light for my face. Therefore, it has to have a perfect balance. I love my new hairstyle.” Michiko is happy with it.
