Damage free permed style by selecting the right products for hair type
November 18, 2013
Kazumi Ohta, 47 years old, is working for a shipping company and is a mother of a junior high school boy.
“When I was younger I was worried about other people’s eyes, however when I got older I tried to be myself and beautiful in my busy life.” Kazumi said.
For her hair style, Kazumi has been going to see Mr. Sakagari for the last 4 years.
“When I wanted to try a permed hairstyle, I found a great style in magazine “STORY.” My previous hairstylist told me that my hair type did not suit for perm and would get damaged.” Kazumi said.
However she could not give up the style and visited the hair salon, NEWSHOTEL, where she got the style she was looking for.
“Not only the proven technique of the hairstylist, but also the hair salon which is stylish with all the staff really friendly, made the salon became to be my regular one.” Kazumi said.
Kazumi’s concerns were winding because of the dry and grey hair she started to get, and her round face shape. So how Mr. Sakagari solve the problems?
Her hair type is glossy dry hair which works well for perming and colouring by choosing the right products. I created a style with higher front top which tricks the eye to make her round face shape more oval. Mr. Sakagari said.
He created middle layered style with a 3cm length under her shoulder. For the top, he applied rhombus shaped layer to make the higher length. For bang he cut gradually to create a natural line and used layers to make a plump front top.
Since Kazumi’s hair type is easy to be coloured, instead of using grey cover hair colour, he used low light hair colour for the back and side of her hair, then applied 6 lines of high light.
“Every time I retouch the roots when the hair grow, I will use the foiling technique to isolate the hair to be highlighted from the hair than needs colour retouch with base colour. With this colouring technique, her hair colour will look more shiny and glossy.” Mr. Sakagari explained.
He carefully chose the perming lotion for her hair type, used cysteamine-based perm which is considered as less damaging but still keeping the glossy look. He used 5 of 20mm rods for bottom, 12 of 24mm rods for middle, and 3 of 26mm rods for top of her hair.
Kazumi’s hairstyle looks natural which is based on Mr. Sakagari’s proven technique for haircut and choosing the right colouring and perming products for her hair type.
“I am happy with my new hair style which looks natural, soft, and glossy. Mr. Sakagari understands my hair type and uses the right techniques. Please always take a good care of my hair.” Kazumi said.
It seems like Mr. Sakagari will be her hairstylist for some times.
