Hair care lesson by Hama-chan (vol.3) The best way to do shampoo for different type of hair
July 8, 2013
Hama-chan:
I am going to explain about home care for damaged hair due to the deterioration of body metabolism.
There are two types of treatments. First one is “in-the-bathroom” treatments such as shampoo and hair treatment. Second one is “out-the-bathroom” treatments such as treatments you do not wash away and hair lotion.
Today I will talk about the most important “in-the-bathroom” treatments.
Yumi:
As a hair dresser, I thought you might say the hair care at salon is the most important.
Hama-chan:
Hair care at hair salon is like going to the hospital. We repair the damaged hair there. However, the most important is prevention which you can do at home.
Hama-chan:
For prevention, first of all, I need to talk about the way to do shampoo. There are a lot of information around about how to do shampoo, however, Dermatologist and hair dressers like us have different opinions for shampoo.
Dermatologist has to tell his / her patients how to keep their hair clean without irritant. However, the conditions of hair and scalp vary depending on individuals. People who work outside or have a lot of sebum need to wash well, on the other hand, people who have sensitive skin need to wash softly without using too much shampoo.
Yumi:
So how we change the way of shampoo depend on conditions?
Hama-chan:
There are two ways.
1 Wash softly with already formed shampoo which is for people whose hair is clean.
2 Put shampoo directly to scalp which is for people who need to clean hair well.
Yumi:
Is it OK to put shampoo directly to scalp?
Hama-chan:
No problem. We apply special shampoo directly on scalp when we do head spa.
Yumi:
I see. For people who want to clean scalp as well as prevent hair from being damaged, which type of shampoo should they do to accomplish those two purposes?
Hama-chan:
That is a commonly asked question! I recommend to put the shampoo directly onto the scalp, make a form on scalp, then wash softly with creamy bubbles. When the bubbles are all over the hair, rift scalp and massage.
Yumi:
Do we need to wash hair every day?
Hama-chan:
You can wash hair every day, in general.
For people who have dry hair, no need to wash every day.
In hair there are a lot of nutrition which comes from the sebum. If you take out too much sebum with shampoo, it causes dry hair and hair breakage.
Yumi:
There are different ways to do shampoo depending on hair conditions.
I would like everyone to find the best way to shampoo.
